Framework Overview

What are the basic principles of Flipside?

The Flipside programme has a core component focusing on developing an understanding of the broad technical skills required to build digital products, and a raft of support structures to help embed learning, develop soft skills and employability skills to prepare young people for success on and after the programme.

The participants (Flipsiders) learn about different aspects of digital product design in response to a brief set by a brand. The Flipsiders work in teams of four and are supported at every stage of the process by learning from the participating digital agencies. The support structures include mentoring, masterclasses and inspiration sessions.

What does Flipside look like on a day-to-day basis?

Each Flipsider team is based at a participating agency for three to four days per week over the 12 week course to get a feel of what it’s like to work in a professional environment.

For Beyond, this is a very hands on environment where Flipsiders work directly with key members of the team to gain as strong an understanding as possible about what it’s like to work on live briefs within a real agency setting.

The teams are supported at all stages in the process, learning all the key skills they need to develop, test and pitch a product in the real world.
